What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is an FDA-approved, injectable medication that temporarily reduces the appearance of moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles on your forehead and between your eyebrows.

What is Dysport?

Dysport an injectable medication that temporarily smooths wrinkles and fine lines on your forehead and between your eyebrows. Dysport creates a smooth and natural look, and it supports normal facial movements and expressions.

How do Xeomin and Dysport reduce the appearance of wrinkles?

Dysport and Xeomin are both neuromodulators. Neuromodulators are chemicals that change the way your neurotransmitters send messages throughout your body.

When your aesthetician injects Dysport or Xeomin into the muscles under your facial skin, they block the chemicals that trigger the muscle contractions that cause facial expressions and pull your skin into folds and wrinkles. As your facial muscles relax, your skin follows suit, and your wrinkles and fine lines diminish.

What should I expect during my treatment?

You will begin your treatment with a comprehensive consultation with one of the expert aestheticians at Begin With Skin Med Spa. They will examine your skin and talk with you about your skin concerns and lifestyle to identify the best treatments for you.

When you have your Xeomin or Dysport injection, your aesthetician will carefully clean your face and gently mark the planned injection sites. You won’t need an anesthetic, but if you have sensitive skin or a fear of needles, they can apply a cold compress or topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort.

The injections only take 10-20 minutes and require no downtime to recover. You should start to see the results within a few days.

How should I take care of my skin after my Xeomin or Dysport appointment?

You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after your injections. You’ll need to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your appointment.

Your aesthetician will give you specific skin care instructions, but in general, you’ll need to wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat to dry. You should always be careful with sun exposure and wear a broad spectrum sunscreen to reduce future sun damage.
